Video Marketing Minute: If you build it, will they come...to your business?Sep 08, 2020
When you first started your business, you may have thought that growing it would be easy as long as you put in the hard work of creating a business that would help people live better lives - even in a small way.
You’ve put in that work, built a business that your perfect-fit customers love you for.
But then you realized that finding more of those perfect-fit customers was harder that you thought it would be.
You hoped that if you build it, they will come. Maybe your friends and family told you that too. Just build an amazing business and it will sell itself.
But, now you are quickly understanding that saying was great for a Hollywood movie, but it just doesn’t hold up in the real world.
We’ve made that mistake too - more than once. For us, we hated the idea of “selling” and hoped that people would see what we built and flock to us to buy it.
Unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way for us - and it’s probably not working out that way for you either.
It’s not that people won’t love what you do for them - it’s just that there are so many options beggin for their time and money that it’s hard to get their attention for long enough to show them how you can help them.
You used to be able to fix the problem by spending money on advertising. It just doesn’t work like it used to. It makes it harder than ever to reach them. Or at least that may be how it seems.
That’s why video has become the most effective way to market your business. Video lets you connect with those best-fit customers by sharing an engaging story that creates an emotional connection.
With video, you can use your words, and combine them with a visual story and music. That creates a mood that makes that connection much easier to build.
